Joe Mullins makes $2k Donation to IBMA’s Leadership Bluegrass Program!
Another fantastic weekend at the Southern Ohio Indoor Music Festival in Wilmington, OH, just wrapped up. And again, the generosity of Janet Davis Acoustic Music and the donations from our loyal audience have earned one gentleman a new Martin Guitar and raised hundreds of dollars for a worthy cause.
Congratulations to TED LEWALLEN of Rudolph, OH! His donation to theInternational Bluegrass Music Association Leadership Bluegrass professional development program earned him the winning ticket, drawn Saturday night on the stage of the Roberts Centre. His model D-16 deluxe Martin Guitar complete with custom case, was donated by Janet Davis Acoustic Music. Leadership Bluegrass alumni including Joe Mullins and Laurie Greenburg of the Class of 2015, Megan Brugger Class of 2010 and former facilitator of the program Fred Bartenstein all assisted in the fundraising effort.
$2000 in sponsorships will help the Leadership Bluegrass Class of 2016 enjoy a first-rate experience in Nashville, TN, at the upcoming program in March next year. The dollars will help fund materials, meals, professional facilitators and provide scholarships for deserving candidates.
“As a recent LBG graduate, I REALLY enjoyed the program and saw so many benefits that all provide lasting value and of course leadership to the Bluegrass community. With a loyal following of thousands of fans at my band’s twice annual festivals, we are delighted to find a way to ‘pay it forward’ in raising funds for one of the keystone projects of the International Bluegrass Music Association” – Joe Mullins
