Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers along with Billy Blue Records announce the second single from their forthcoming Gospel album. “Even Better When You Listen” is now available to radio programmers and on streaming services.
For nearly twenty years, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers have consistently included gospel music in their recordings, a decision that has endeared them to fans and radio programmers alike. Their gospel tracks are among the most beloved by their audience, showcasing the band’s commitment to preserving the rich, spiritual heritage of the genre. Citing two Gospel Recorded Performance awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association (“All Dressed Up” and “Sacred Memories”), a Gospel performance video with over three million views (“I Want To Know More About My Lord”), and a viral TikTok soundtrack (“Don’t You Want To Go Home”), it’s evident the band knows what resonates most with the hearts of their listeners.
“Even Better When You Listen” is the followup single to the very well received “One Breath Away” which spent multiple weeks at #1 on both the Bluegrass Today Top 10 Gospel Songs and Singing News Top 20 Bluegrass Gospel Songs charts. And while “One Breath Away” presented the band’s more traditional sound with their quartet backed by a simple sock-rhythm guitar and mandolin, “Even Better When You Listen” showcases their versatility with a more bluesy feel. This new original comes from award-winning songwriter Rick Lang and Mark BonDurant.
“I have a friend who used to say ‘God ain’t no big Santa Claus!’ We shouldn’t pray with a wish list,” shares Mullins. “If we praise God in prayer and seek His will, we can find it and follow it easier if we look for God in every situation, and listen with our heads and hearts. The Radio Ramblers have a ball playing this fun, bluesy melody, and Chris Davis delivers the right message with his powerful voice.”
“Even Better When you Listen” is now available on Billy Blue Records to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct or by requesting a direct download here. It is also available on popular digital streaming platforms. For information, visit RadioRamblers.com.
